Udon noddle soup

Update Nov 17: Rob S. wants to lead a ride to Deep Cove after the leisure ride. VBC bounty knows no bounds. See Part 2 below:

I don’t know about you, but all these VBC food rides are going to give me diabetes. But I love them! You might want to fast before and after, as it’s common to overeat at this popular event. Join us on a ride over to the Japanese Language School for their annual fundraiser bazaar, complete with a variety of homemade Japanese food for sale. Bring a strong lock, tools, spare tube and know how to use them. Ride runs rain or shine in the event of fair to middling weather. No riding in a downpour; I’ll drive to the event instead.

Meet: 10 AM at JJ’s Coffee on 6th and Commercial

Route: less than 30km, goes out to Stanley Park, ends at Alexander and Jackson. Pace is low 20s km/hr, noone is dropped.

RSVP the Leader: Teresa

Part 2: Deep Cove Sunshine Ride

We’ve been blessed with another great sunshine weekend. Let’s take advantage of the great weather and get a ride in. This is a No Drop ride. For hills 100 meters or more in height, we will wait at the top of them until the last rider makes it up. If your bike breaks down or you are hurt, then we will be there to help you out.

Meet: Science World at 130pm
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/8223005
Rating: Intermediate
Ride duration: 2 – 2.5 hours: expect speed of about 22 kph overall
Rider Limit: 8
RSVP : Rob

I will be riding rain or shine (just love me some Japanese food), but I am hoping for sun!

Be prepared to hail an ark then. Clearly, you’ve erased last year’s weather trauma from your mind. I wish I could. If anyone wants to dog paddle to the event, you know who to contact.

Awesome Ride – the weather was wonderful and dry, the lunchtime food was delicious, and for the 2nd half of the ride, the sunlight even held out until just after we were done. Great to have a great crew of hardy riders out! Big Thanks to Will for seeing the issue causing my rear brake problem – great to have brakes again!
