This on Trevor Linden’s top 5 ride list for good reason: good hills, especially in Coquitlam and Port Moody, are combined with great water views. Best suited for road bikes and skinny tires. We will stop in Port Moody on the way back at Pajos. Take your food to a microbrew on Brewery Row and it’s a complete meal. Lunch is at the 45km mark, so bring extra food for energy.

As always, bring a bike in good working order and your repair gear.

Meet: JJ’s coffee on 6th Ave and Commercial, 9AM

Distance: 70km

Route: view here

Thanks for the great ride, Teresa!

I’m still hoping they put tunnels through the hills.

Thanks to the 7 who joined me today. The haze muted the views, but didn’t stop these guys from crushing the ride. A big welcome to Clare and welcome back to Kelly, who’s in top form. We had one flat on the way to Belcarra. The group attended to a fallen cyclist on Ioco Rd after getting clipped by a trailer. There was a deer spotted but no other wild animals, unless you count fellow cyclists. And the bugs! I added protein to my diet, but didn’t do much for my smile. Apparently the descent down the Gatensbury hill was “scary” but no spare underpants were needed. We stopped for food at Pajo’s then to Moody Ales for good brew before tackling Barnet Highway’s big headwinds.

    Enjoy the pics:
