The Ride:  What’s a new year without a bike ride to work out all the fine holiday toxins out of your pores and liver? Weather permitting, we will leisurely ride Vancouver’s neighborhoods for a couple of hours or so, and magically arrive at Urban Fare in Olympic Village to toast the new year. Bring a good lock to park your bike outside. Check the website a couple of hours before the start for cancellations in case of bad weather.

The Route: A route will depend on current conditions and the mood.

Meet:  At Terra Breads at the Olympic Village at 1200

RSVP the Ride Leader : Cameron

Many thanks to Cam for leading and for Cheryl and Joel to open their home to us again on this annual tradition that starts the new year on the right foot. Conditions were great as we made our way out to the Jericho Sailing Center before turning around. There were 14 riders at the start but we lost a couple on the way out.

    Enjoy the photos:

Karen and I somehow lost the group when Karen kindly helped me with my errant handlebar bag. Thanks for leading everyone else, Cam. We had a sweet ride up to UBC, a coffee at Urban Faire-just in case, and finally I landed up at Joel and Cheryl’s to see the rest of the tribe. Karen went home :-((
Wonderful eats and drinks at Joel and Cheryl’s: thanks again for your generous staging of this annual event. Thanks, David, for help with the Ortlieb.
Happy and healthy New Year All, look forward to many fun rides in 2019.
