By signing this waiver, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Bicycling can be dangerous. Accidents happen, foreseeable and unforeseeable, with short-term or permanent results. The fault could be mine or someone else's. I could be hurt or killed, and my property damaged or destroyed. I participate at my own risk. I am responsible for what happens to myself while taking part with the VBC.
2. I waive the right to sue or make any legal claims against the VBC, its directors, its members, its participants, or its associates (volunteers, sponsors, the League of American Bicyclists, etc.) for anything that happens during or related to a VBC event. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the releasees for any loss or liability. This also applies if someone makes a legal claim against any of the releasees on my behalf.
3. I have read this agreement and I understand its terms. I am signing this waiver freely, and I understand that my signing it constitutes an unconditional release of ANY liability of the VBC, its directors, its members, its participants, or its associates.
4. The above applies to me, my relatives, and anyone who represents me.

Do not mail this membership form.

Take this membership form to a VBC ride, and give it to the ride coordinator / ride leader.

Or take this form to a VBC meeting, or social event.
