Saturday February 11 Burnaby Mountain – Medium ride
Ride up to SFU for the view, stay for the food.
It´s been so warm, venturing into higher elevation has not brought fears of icy crashes. Have you ever ridden up Gagliardi to SFU? Me neither. There´s a first time for everything. This is a quick ride around town to get to SFU. I’m stopping at Cockney Kings for lunch, not at the Burnaby Golf Course as per map, because anything hard should be rewarded with fries. Make sure your brakes are working, and bring a lock.

Out of the 5 that came, only 2 made it to the top, due to a few losing their way. That meant less grease and fries for everyone, except those who scaled SFU. So who really won? Hmmm. What a chin scratcher. I´m going to have some cake and think about that. Gaglardi leads to an asymptote of a grind up to the ring road, but is direct and feels faster than Burnaby Mountain Parkway. Thanks for the new route, Colin!
A note for future rides: I stop and wait at turns. If I´m not waiting, I have continued on the same street or path.
