Sunday Aug 14 Commercial Drive to Central City – easy medium

The Ride: The hills are (almost) out of the way as we move through Burnaby, from Boundary Road up to Hastings St. Then it’s a ride through bucolic lands in both Pitt Meadows and Langley. There is an alternate stop in Fort Langley if we want. It’s a leisurely (not leisure) ride so anything the group wants goes. After Fort Langley we continue along the flats until we reach Fraser Highway which brings us back to the King George Skytrain station, or better yet, Central City Brewery for those who want a well deserved beer. This is a no drop ride, it’s not a speed ride.
Bring tools/spares in case of flats. I will run this ride despite any weather prognostications.

Meet: JJ Beans 6th and Commercial, 8:30AM
Distance: about 84km
Ride coordinator: RSVP Colin if you plan on being there
Many thanks to Colin who led 6 of us through 7 cities under spectacular summer conditions. After a lunch at Ft Langley, we cycled through myriad farms with all the barnyard smells. Excitement was riding along a newly paved section of Fraser Hwy that hadn’t been open to cars. It felt like a red carpet for cyclists!
