Rescheduled for November 5- PoCo Trails – Easy Medium

Update October 28: The weather gods promise rain, so the ride will be rescheduled.
Let’s carry on with the off-road trails theme. Why? No traffic noise or exhaust. Lots of natural beauty away from asphalt and shopping centers. And the unending gravel mandates a slower pace, so consider a wider tire for comfort. This ride explores the riverside trails of Colony Farms, Port Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows. Most of the road surface will be hard packed gravel with just enough pavement to disappoint, Possible rough sections requiring bike handling ability-there’s no shame in walking too. Lunch will be around the halfway mark at Hopcott Farms which has a bistro attached to a grocery/butchery/deli. Bring a bike in good condition, with tools and the ability to fix a flat. Ride runs in good weather only, so keep an eye on the website for possible cancelation.
Meet: LaFarge Lake Skytrain station at 10AM

7 of us enjoyed the sun and no-rain on this blustery ride into Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows. This intrepid crew braved some especially fierce winds along the Alouette and Pitt Rivers. Big thanks to Richard for helping to navigate the Coquitlam River and Colony Farms sections where crisscrossing trails confuse and unexpected trail closures required detours. We were excited to see herons, eagles, no end of dogs, and even spawning salmon!
