Saturday January 14 Steveston_UBC (medium)
Note that the ride has changed to Saturday as the weather currently looks better.
Heading south to Steveston will hopefully lessen any chance of being hit by flying water coming out of the sky. We’ll find a place to eat in Steveston (perhaps Village Curry or the Cannery Cafe) which should be about half way (unless the group decides to just go for it!) The return will be via UBC back to where we start. Remember to bring a few tools in case of a flat and a transit pass for “the easy way home”.

Meet: 10:00 Terra Bread on Manitoba/Olympic Village
Distance: about 70km
Ride coordinator: RSVP Colin (this is a certified tested ride)
In case of massif amounts of rain or other factors, a cancellation notice will appear 2 Hrs before the ride start. (another alternative is a snorkel is a must-have with the possibility of fins in case of biblical/california rain or a coating of a hydrophobic solution.)

How about a snorkel as a must-have for this ride? Should we bring flippers too?
Many thanks to Colin for leading this ride around our fair city on such a spring-like day. Despite the dry weather we did encounter a large body of water that required hip waders and a brave front to ford. It was all we could do not to end up in the belly of a whale. Needless to say, a hearty appetite was built up by the time we arrived in Steveston. Is it a wonder I ordered the fish?
