Saturday September 16 -SFU to Belcarra- Hilly Medium

Layer upon layers of hill climbing, this ride is a cardio-lover’s dream. The first leg ascends SFU via Union/Adanac, then proceeds through Coquitlam with fun descent into Port Moody where we tackle the hills of Belcarra. It’s a good workout and way to test your readiness for tackling the local mountains. Bring a reliable bike, tools for flats, water and snacks, and money for lunch. We’ll stop at a place to eat in Port Moody on the way back to Barnet Hwy. It might not even be ice cream.
Meet: 8AM JJ Bean at 6th and Commercial

An army of two attended this ride. It´s because I smell, isn´t it? (Sniff armpits) Since noone rsvp´d, I didn´t leave home til about 930AM. The ride isn´t as hard as it looks, as I slowly spun up all the hills and modified the route by taking Barnet Hwy out and back, and same with Bedwell Bay Rd too.
Ride highlights include black bears on the SFU ring road, big views eastbound on Bedwell Bay Rd, and a much deserved fish and chips lunch at Cockney King. No Trevor Linden sightings, despite this being one of his fave rides. What a letdown.

Sounds like a good ride and a Bear! Wow!
Did you share your fish and chips?
Do you think photos may still appear
That’s bears plural: a mother and juvenile-I didn’t stick around to enjoy the Kodak moment. Fish and chips is Navajo for “not shareable.â€
Pictures don´t really do justice to the ride, so I threw in some botanical filler:

Nothing ursine, sorry!
