Sunday November 12 – Leisure/Medium Hybrid Ride
Take your dumplinged self out for a ride! This hybrid ride is actually 2, 2 rides in 1, like combination shampoo and conditioner in the 90’s. The ride first leaves from Olympic Village and leisurely goes to Ambleside Park, where a variety of cafes and restaurants await. From Ambleside, the ride proceeds onto Horseshoe Bay, the 2nd ride. Note: be prepared to navigate your return if you turn around here.
Those who ride to Horseshoe Bay will be treated to big ocean views- definitely a marathon, not a sprint. You’ll need to be self sufficient with your own tools and the ability to use them. Bring a reliable bicycle, water, and snack.
Ride #1: Olympic Village to Ambleside

Meet: 1000AM at Olympic Village
Ride #2: Ambleside to Horseshoe Bay

Rain or threat of rain will cancel the ride.
RSVP and indicate which ride you plan to attend: Teresa
6 brave souls came out in their hermetically sealed best (which happened to double as highly effective birth control) as we prepared for bad weather that never came. It was overcast but dry as we cycled through Stanley Park, amid the fallen branches and debris from the windstorm. Watch out for slippery leaves! Coffee was at Crema in their renovated digs.
Thanks to Sharon for sweeping and being the only one with big enough cojones to tackle the ride out to Horseshoe Bay. My sad sack excuse? Small cojones.
Some pics were taken on the ride, the others taken at Memorial Park:
