Saturday May 4th – Star Wars Leisure Ride
Muster up your best Wookie call, it´s our first May the Fourth ride, celebrating all things Star Wars. You can dress up or wig out, just don´t let your Leia hair get caught in the drivetrain. (She has a braid in Return of the Jedi, remember?) Oh yes-let the inner geek all hang out on this ride to Southlands. You might not see any Stormtroopers but you will spot horses, a close second in my book. We might stop at a bakery on the way back if the group is interested. Keep an eye on the website 2hr before the start for possible cancellation if raining.

Nine riders came out on this nice day (for Vancouver) as we toodled around UBC to Southlands. Big points go to one rider who looks like a mountain-biking Stormtrooper and to another for having a great Star Wars day T-shirt. They really embodied the spirit of Star Wars day. I forgot my Chewbacca mask, proving I am a wookie rookie. The ride wrapped up at Beaucoup Bakery with coffee and decadent sweets. Thanks to Cameron for sweeping. A big welcome to new rider Alain!
