Sunday July 27 – Seymour Falls Dam Medium Ride
This a favorite VBC ride! In the winter, the North Shore is a wall of gloom and rain. In the summer, it’s a major playground for city slickers and worth exploring. This ride ventures into the forest of the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve that features a nice 12km paved trail free of cars that follows a river to Seymour Lake. Expect to climb for an extended period of time at a moderate grade. There is a short section of dirt trail, otherwise the route is paved. There are plenty of picnic tables, and benches. Bring a lunch!

Thirteen riders started the day under overcast skies. It was perfect for the moderate climb to the undulating hills and then the rewarding, sweeping downhills back to the city. The demonstration forest trail is very popular with all levels of riders. We encountered two peletons including a group consisting of 6 or 7 year olds! The End of the Line General Store provided some much needed nutrition for our journey home.
